Image titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleImage titleThe lake level is 553.35 and has risen 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with about 3-hours of running one generator. The White River at Newport is 6.6 feet and dropping indicating not much water is being let out anywhere. The lake surface water temperature is 49-degrees and has risen just a bit with the warmer weather. The water clarity is good for fishing and you can see your lure down about 5-feet. I went fishing with Bink yesterday and we caught several nice sized White Bass on the bottom in 53-feet of water on his 3/8th ounce white jigging spoon. They were full of eggs with blood lines indicating they are about ready to spawn. I then went back home and fished Blackburns brush piles and caught some crappie and a walleye. It was a fun day with warm temperatures approcahing 70-degrees but a little windy. I have been out everyday since Christmas after my work is done and have caught fish each time but not high numbers until yesterday. Overall fishing is just fair but White Bass are pre-spawn feeding. We continue to make big improvements here at Blackburns and you will like what you see when you get here. There will be no price increases in 2023 so come on down. We will not charge you too much and a free stall for your boat comes with your cabin. Can't beat that. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115
