The White River at Newport is 15.14 feet and is as high as it has been in months. The Corps of Engineers have now taken over the generation schedule from the Power Company as we got above 553.75 feet. The main lake remains clear after the 1.7 inches of rain total in the last 48-hours which most of it run off staining the creeks brown in the back. The ground is now saturated. The surface water tmeperature is still 55-degrees but that is about to change with the very cold weather moving in next week. There is still a morning bite for temperate bass in open water on shad with some bass with them and an evening bite for crappie and bass shallow near the bank. Spoons are the overall best lure with smaller ones in brush for crappie and larger ones in open water. Small jigs and grubs are the best for evening fish. Overall fishing is just fair but the lake overall is in good condition.
