March 11, 2021 Norfork Lake condition and fishing report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental (click here for comments)New Page

3/11/2021

The lake level is 553.62 and dropping slowly with generation about 1/2 the time. The lake is in overall excellent condition. The surface water temperature is back above 50. The new news is that fishing has just changed today. The low pressure is moving in with wind and good chances of rain for the next several days. Now is formally jerk bait fishing time. First make sure your bait is tracking properly and make necessary adjustments. Go part way back in the larger creeks and stay as far from the bank as you can cast, crank your suspending 5-inch jerk bait down about three turns, give three jerks with a 6-1/2 ft. medium heavy rod and let set for several seconds and repeat until you are about 1/2 way back to the boat. Retrieve your lure and cast again.  Most fish are near the bank now.  Your lure should have some white on it. Walleye and bass are both there right now and crappie will be soon. Some white bass should also show up. This is why you have to be out there every day. Stay tuned. This is much better than dragging live bait.
