The lake level is 579.02 and dropping very slowly with both generators running continuously. The surface temperature is 78-degrees and the water is clear. There is some debris out there though. Basically the fish are on the old shoreline in the cover part way back in the creeks. The old shoreline is 25+ feet. They are feeding on crawdads, shad and other bait fish. Most everything has spawned now except some bass and catfish. Baitfish are everywhere. Catfish are biting on jugs and limb lines and bluegill are biting on crickets off docks. Otherwise use a 3-inch swim bait, topwater bait or jigging spoon when they go back down and when they go to deeper water after feeding. Get out early, take the middle of day off and go out about 5:PM and fish until sunset. Crappie just got scarce for me. There is a top water bite most days early but not every day. Overall fishing is fair but some nice ones are being caught everyday. Things have not changed much the last three weeks and Blackburns still has the best prices on cabins and rental boats and your first boat stall is free. All cabins have covered porches.
