Norfork Lake Scuba Diving Report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

6/16/2026

Spear fishing season opened today. Yea. The lake level is 557.65 and has risen 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with 9-hours of running one generator. The surface water temperature is 81-degrees and 79-fdegrees at the thermocline with is at 21-feet. The visibility is good down to the thermocline and there is a mud line from there to 25-feet and clear deeper than that in the cold water. The fish are mostly in and around the mud line or shallower and you can see 5-7 feet on rocky bottoms. It is very clear near the shore. Crappie are in open water and hard to find now but Walleye are plentiful on windblown main lake points in front of brush. I did not see a Catfish this morning but was after Walleye. Ovarall Norfork is in the best diving conditions that it has been for years and there are more Walleye. Now is the time to book your spearfishing trip or recreational diving. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental continues to have the best resort with the best price on both cabins and dive boats in the Ozarks and Scuba Steve will help you find fish. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. Come on down.
