June 14,2024 Scuba Diving and Spearfishing Report for Norfork Lake near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region by Scuba steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

6/14/2024
The lake level is 560.70 and is the same as it was at this time yesterday. It is too high for the amount of rain we have received. The White River at Newport is 11.33 feet indicating not much water is being released anywhere. It is as if they want to flood us out for some unknown reason. The surface water temperature is 80-degrees and the thermocline starts at 22-feet and is cold at 26-feet. There is a mud line starting at 22-feet and clears up in the cold water. The visibility is fair and you can see about 5-feet around the thermocline. Walleye are paired and roaming with the bait fish so fish windblown main lake points with brush and go slow and be patient. A few catfish are shallow in front of the brush and some crappie are back from the creeks. White Bass are showing up in the same areas. The water clears as you go south but the fish are not in clear water. The walleye population is good and it looks to be a good season. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has good Diving Pontoons for you to rent at good prices and Scuba Steve will help you when you get here. The season opens tomorrow so now is the time to get ready. Scuba Doo dive shop is just 1/2 mile away from Blackburns and has everything you need. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. Blackburns continues to have the best prices on both cabins and boat rental in the Ozarks and will welcome your visit. We are the diving headquarters for Norfork lake.
