The lake level is 552.33 and is the same as it was at this time yesterday with one partial generator running for two hours. The White River at Newport is 2.05 feet and about ready to dry up with not much generation anywhere. The grass has greened up again with the recent rains but we are still dry and need some moisture in the soil. We have had a couple of days of cool weather but it is to be in the 70's and near 80 for the next week. It is a perfect time for a fall Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental vacation. The surface water temperature is 75-degrees and the lake is clear after the turnover. Fishing is getting better every day and that should continue.  The fall foliage has not changed much the last few days but Blackburns' burning bush is starting to turn ded and it is a good indicator. We could still get some color this year. Crappie and Kentucky Bass are the best bites with Kentucky Bass everywhere. Some are moving in shallower in front of brush piles. Some Crappie are hanging out in their normal places and others are roaming from brush pile to brush pile looking for bait fish. There is a lot of food out there and the fish are fat. A few smaller Walleye are with the Bass. Drop a 1/4 ounce Bink's Spoon in and around the brush and you will catch fish. Crappie are biting on hair jigs. with about 2/3rds keepers. We have a nice group of Crappie fishermen in now and they are catching several every day. They know what they are doing and are fine fellows and are always welcome here at Blackburns. The lake overall is in excellent condition, at a good level and color for fishing. You can still get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day here at Blackburns with a two bedroom for $89 and you cannot beat that anywhere. Why pay more. Loyalty is good until you get charged too much. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more and you can launch right here and step right on the dock. No better place around. We have it all and at the best price. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We are closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. and Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located. He has some good ones and works hard putting them in for you. He has 28-acres of Cedar trees.
