The lake level is 555.59 and is the same as it was yesterday with one generator running for 5-hours. The White River at Newport is 5.27 feet and low indicating not much water is being released anywhere.  The surface water temperature is 90-degrees and the thermocline is at 31-feet. The water clarity has diminished a bit but is still good for this time of year. Overall the lake is in excellent condition and at a good level for boating, swimming, fishing and diving. The Crappie are schooling and moving to the brush in 30ft. of water a little earlier this year for some reason. Bass are moving in shallower in late evening and after dark feeding on Crawdads. Night fishermen  with a blacklight are doing well. Beating the bank during the day is not producing much except for cloudy days. The larger Walleye and Stripers continue moving deeper and not feeding so you have to drop a spoon right on their heads and get a reaction strike. Several are being caught. Everything caught doing this dies regardless of size. It is a good time of year to quit fishing for them. Some very nice Bluegill are on top of brush and biting on the small spoon. For best results have some red on it. The moon is small and the river is not dropping very much and Catfishing is picking up. A live 3-4 inch bluegill is your best bet. Docks are holding a lot of nice Bluegill also and where there are Bluegill you can be sure some big Largemouth and Catfish are near. Brush piles are holding a lot of baitfish. Fish banks and points where the wind has been blowing into. Blackburns Resort and Boat rental continues to have the best resort with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and are closest to Mountain Home, ding and shopping. No need to stay way out in the boonies.  You still have time to bring the children for a visit before school starts. Come on down and join the fun. We have the largest pool and largest dock arounf. Come on down and we will not charge you too much. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
