The lake level is 555.63 and is down 3/4 inches in the last 24-hours with 7-hours of running one generator. There is no effort to drop the lake. The surface water temperature is 91-degrees and the thermocline is at 31-feet. The water clarity is good for diving. Several Kentucky Bass are on main lake points in 30-ft. of water or a little less on brush and feeding shallow in the evening. Bass fishing after dark with a black light is good. Several fish are feeding shallow in the evening.  Some Crappie are also on or above the brush but are spooky. Use your trolling motor sparingly and shut off spot lock and go against the wind.  Spooning deep for larger Walleye and Stripers is good but all fish die when brought up no matter the size. It is a good time to quit fishing deep. Undersized fish are floating on the surface after being released. Venting or fizzing does not work. Fishing overall is typical for this time of year but the water is more clear than normal. They are catching some nice ones off scuba Steve's dock. Overall the lake is in good condition and at a good level for fishing, diving, swimming and boating. The lake traffic is low during the week but fairly busy on weekends. Now is the time to book a short vacation before school starts and Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is the place. We have the best resort with the largest pool and dock and the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. You will like it here and the children will love the big level playground and pool.
