The lake level is 555.76 and is the same as it was at this time yesterday with one generator running for 4-hours and a total of 0.8 inches of rain. We seem to get rain everytime we need it keeping everything green and have missed all storms this year so far. The White River at Newport is 4.31 feet and about ready to dry up with very little water baing released anywhere. I guess they do not need any electricity anywhere. When the power company is in charge of dam generation they do not let out much. The surface water temperature is 90-degrees and the thermocline is at 31-feet. The water is clear down to 21-feet. The lake overall is in excellent condition for swimming, boating, fishing and scuba diving. The fish continue to go deeper with jigging spoons being the lure of choice for larger Stripers and Walleye. The large Stripers are scarce with the many Guides fishing in deep water and killinjg everything they bring up. They should quit fishing deep this time of year. The after dark bite for Bass is good under a black light on the first drop-off on steep banks and Bluegill fishing is good on top of brush piles. There are some Crappie on brush in 30-feet of water but not a lot. The larger Walleye have moved deep with the Stripers. The fishing is definitely in it's summer pattern and is not changing much daily. The moon is getting bigger and the river is dropping and not helping Catfishing any. Some are being caught off Scuba Steve's Dock but are mostly smaller Channels.
