Caught on the Bink's Spoon.

The lake level is 557.84 and has dropped 2-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running continuously and spillway gates open to an equivalent of a little over 1/2 generator since 8:AM. The White River at Newport is 9.99 feet and dropping and can hold a lot more water. So far we have missed the storms and big rains and the lake is in excellent condition and at a good level. Scuba Steve would like it lower just in case. The water is very clear down to 17-feet with a mud line after that past the thermocline at 27-feet. It is cold at 35-feet. Several fish are in the mud line. .The surface water temperature is 88-degrees. Some windblown brush piles are holding fish but a lot more are in open water on shad at about 40-feet. Jigging spoons are the best lures. Find the shad and drop the spoon through them.  We are definetely in the summer pattern and the good Bass fishermen at going out a dark and using black lights and flourescent line and salt craws. Main Lake cuts are best for Catfish. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is the family place with the largest playground, largest pool and biggest dock with ducks, turtles and fish. Deer and wildlife are every where. The children will love it. Come on down and we will not charge you too much for cabins or boat rentals. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is very nice here and the price is right.  Why pay more?
