The lake level is 559.65 and has risen 3-1/2 inches in the last 23-hours with 9-hours of running one generator. It continues to rise and is approaching too high for no reason. They are bound and determined to flood us out. The White River at Newport is 11.34 feet and there is room for more water there with no problem. The surface water temperature is 84-degrees and rising and the thermocline is at 25-feet. There is a mudline at 20-feet with poor visibility down to the cold water at 30-feet. Several fish are just above, at, or just under the thermocline. Stripers are moving deeper and are on shad and some Largemouth Bass and White Bass are with them. Drop a spoon. Catfishing is very good as is Bluegill and Walleye fishing. Find Bluegill and there will be Catfish, Bass and Walleye near. Crappie are surprising still on brush and still biting. They are usually scarce and in open water this time of year. Scuba Steve's dock is holding a lot of fish and the children are having a good time catching them. It is to get hot this week but that is not abnormal. We have a lake, big swimming pool and air conditioned cabins to get out of that. Everything is very green and beautiful here at Blackburns and we continue to have the best resort with the best prices on both cabins and rental boats in the Ozarks.
