The lake level is 555.62 and is up 1-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours with 4-hours of running one generator. Bryant creek at Tecumseh is 4.73 feet and up less than a foot and the lake should stable soon depending on the amount of generation. The White River at Newport is 8.93 feet and normal so there is no reason to not let out water. The surface water temperature is in the mid 80's and is clearing both in the main lake and the creeks from last week's rain. Overall Norfork lake is in excellent condition, color and at a good level for boating, fishing and swimming and it is a perfect time to schedule your family vacation and fishing trip at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental. The big moon has slowed the Catfishing but some are still being caught on throw lines, rod and reel, trot lines and jugs. Use 3-4 inch Bluegill for best results. Hot Dogs soaked in garlic and red food die are catching small Channels back in the creeks but Flatheads will only bite live bait. Walleye are on main lake points in 12-16 feet of water near the bottom in front of brush. There is still a top-water bite for Bass and small Stripers some mornings and evenings off steep banks. Some smaller crappie are still spawning as are some Bluegill and catfish. Flatheads have not spawned yet. This is an excellent time to mix vacations with the family and get in a little fishing.
