The lake level is 553.33 and is stable with no generation for 2-days. The White River at Newport is 2.40 feet, very low and you cannot launch a boat. The surface water temperature is 75-degrees and the water is clear on the main lake and stained a little green in the creeks. Ovarall the lake is in excellent condition for swimming, boating and fishing and at a good level. The best bite right now is post-spawn Largemounth Bass in front of brush piles on finesse worms. Some very nice ones are being caught every day. There is still a top-water bite most days in the AM for both Bass and Small Stripers. The many Guides have pretty much cleaned out the Hybrid Stripers dogging them with their electronics. Scuba Steve has not found a thermocline yet but it will show up at about 16-feet soon and the Walleye, Bass and Crappie will be around and just above that on main lake points. Try dropping a small spoon. It is very busy here at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental with people taking advantage of the best resort with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the ozarks. The pool with slide and baby pool is full and several boats are rented. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation and join the fun. The Money you save can help to pay for the high gas prices. It is nice here and the price is right and we are closest to everything. No need to drive several miles to get to town, shopping and dining. Why pay more?
