The lake level is 549.31 and is up 5-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with no generation for three days. It is up 4-feet from it's low a couple of weeks ago and they are doing nothing to keep it down. It looks like we are heading for the top of the power pool of 553.75 and they always quit generating when it rains for some unknown reason. The surface water temperature is 58+ degrees in Blackburns Creek and the water is brown but starting to clear again. Bryant Creek at Tecumseh is still a foot and 1/2 high so the lake will rise more. Some brown water is heading this way but should mostly clear before it gets here. The White River at Newport is 7.51 feet and normal so they could generate if they wanted to. It is in the hands of the Power Company until it gets to 553.75 and then we will see. The lake overall is in good condition and at a good level and the fish are starting to bite. They think it is spring. White Bass, Crappie and Black Bass are all biting. The water is just stained and not muddy so go back in the larger creeks where the water is the warmest. We are to get rain on Wednesday followed by a cold front and then warm back up again. There is no frost in the forecast which is rare for March.
