The lake level is 546.30 and has risen 3/4 inch in the last 24-hours with no generation. We could get significant rain in the next few days. The lake level is exactly where it should be for this time of year. Scuba Steve just hopes they try to keep it down as best they can. That would be a change. They always in the past have quit generating when it rains. High water does not affect fishing much but it sure affects lake and road access. You can alway get to Blackburns dock no matter how high the water gets. The surface water temperature is 51-degrees and has not changed much lately. The water in the creeks has cleared again after the 1-inch earlier rain and a lot of Bluegill have moved in under Blackburns dock and that usually happens when spring is here. Time change is Saturday night. The White River at Newport is 3.74 feet and rising but still low. The long range forecast does not indicate any frost is on the way. The lake overall is in good condition and at a good level for fishing. Bass and Crappie fishing continues to be the best bites. Spoons and Grubs are the best bites. Small Crankbaits are also catching a few Bass. Warmouth are showing up shallow and that is also a spring indicator but Scuba Steve does not trust March. Anything can happen from snow to storms. April is much better. There will be no price increases this year at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental. We continue to have the best place with the best prices in the Ozarks.
