The lake level was 545.93 and was up 1-inch in the last 24-hours with no generation. That is proof that the lake does not have to drop unless they just let out too much water for no reason. If they need electricity it is just becausr the are shutting down natural gas and coal power plants for no reason. We need some people with more brains and better able to manage lake levels. A.I. could do it better. The Corps Of Engineers need to just build things and let someone else manager the levels. Put them under the Department of Interior and let some people with more intelligence manager stuff. They cannot handle it. The surface water temperature was 50-degrees this evening in Blackburns Creek and the Bluegill have moved in under Scuba Steve's Dock. That does not usually happen until March. That means anytime Bluegill are present Bass and Catfish will follow. A 50-degree water temperature seems to be the magic number. That is because the water temperature where the sun does not shine and stays somewhat stable in the deep water is between 46-48 degrees. The fish in the spring move to the warmest water after it passes this point. They are doing it now. People reporting that water temperature means nothing do not know what they are talking about. Scuba Steve thinks moon phase is important for spawning and certain fish to bite better but do not discount water temperature. They pay attention to moon phase but do not do it untill the water warms. Bluegill and Ocean Stripers like full moons. Most other ones do not. Shad like to spawn in a full moon but will do so at a warm water temperatue only. What happens is that the full moon in certain months usually coincide with water temepratures. Stripers in Norfork Lake usually simulate a spawn durning the full moon in March. This year it is very early in the month and will happen but may be in increments later. There is no panecea. Scuba Steve says good fishermen can catch fish most of the time on Norfork Lake because they have a lot of fish but past the middle of April and through the first half of June are the best times to catch fish.
