The lake level is 549.48 and has risen 1-inch in the last 24-hours with no generation. The White River at Newport is 1.81 feet and about ready to dry up indicating not much water is being released anywhere. The surface water temperature is 58-degrees and rising and the water is clearing and Scuba Steve could see his lure down about 5-feet. It is very clear near the shore. The lake overall is in good condition and at a good level for fishing. There are several fish on shad on the flats in 50-60 feet of water and feeding on the bottom on the 1/2 ounce Bink's Jigging spoon. Many are White Bass but several other species are with them. Others are on and around brush on windblown main lake points and at the entrance and part way back in the creeks especially early and late evening. Lots of schools of Shad are not holding predator fish but some are. A cold front is coming tomorrow late afternoon and will not help anything as far as fishing goes and the moon is getting bigger. Fishing under lights is good for Crappie and Temperate Bass. There were a lot of boats out there yesterday.
