The lake level is 550.54 and has risen just a bit in the last 24-hours with one generator running for two hours. The White River at Newport is 4.41 feet and low but is rising a little. It is not coming from Norfork. We receiced 0.3 inches of rain here on Friday but they must have got more south of here above Newport. The White River at Calico Rock is 2+ feet and very low and not navigatable by boat. They are not stocking trout in the river because they let most of them die at the hatchery so the wade fishermen will probably catch most of them out of the river with the low water. They are put and take anyway. Put them in one day and catch them out the next on corn.  They could just let people fish at the hatchery and by-pass the river part. The lake surface water temperature is 60-degrees on the main lake and cooler near the shore in shallow water in the backs of the creeks. It is cool here today but sunny and near 40 and not too bad. The water has stained and Scuba Steve could see his lure down about three feet last evening.  Overall the lake is at a good level for fishing but fishing is just fair. Scuba Steve caught just four fish last evening and fished for about 1-1/2 hours. There was no bite and he caught one avout every 15-minutes and he caught three Crappie and a Bass. Blackburns has one group of fishermen in, one family looking for real estate, one group of hunters and people visiting their family for the holiday. It is a diverse group and they are all not looking forward to their drive home in the snow and cold and want to stay longer.  Scuba Steve does not like snow and is glad we do not have any here. Leave it for the people that like it. Now is the time to plan you spring fishing trip and family summer vacation. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. We have more people booked for next year than ever before. Come join the family and we will not charge you too much. Your first boat stall is free with a cabin rental and you can launch right here. Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located.
