The lake level is 550.35 and has dropped 1-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours with 1-1/2 generators running for about 8-hours and 1-generator running for 3. This is a big change since there have been very little releases for weeks. They either had to let out some water or let the White River at Newport dry up. It is 1.62 feet and is not navigatable. We are to get a couple of inches of rain tomorrow and I hope we do. It is very dry. We need some moisture in the ground going into the winter. The surface water temperature is 63+ degrees and Scuba Steve could see his lure down about 5-feet on the main lake. Fishing is just fair but some nice ones are being caught everyday. The lake is in excellent condition and at a good level for fishing. Crappie and Kentucky Bass continue to be the best bite but a few Walleye are also being caught. Temperate Bass (red meat fish) fishing is slow but a few are being caught in open water on shad but mostly White Bass. When you find them drop a spoon on their heads. Stick with main lake brush piles for the best chance. Scuba Steve sees a few chuggers (trollers) out there but they are not catching much. It is hard to troll a brush pile. I am catching most of my fish in 15-18 feet of water. Late afternoon until dark is the best bite. Scuba Steve is heading out now and will keep you informed.
