Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 550.52 and has been very stable for several days with 1-1/2 generators running for two hours per day. Not much. We are very dry but rain is on the way on Thursday. We need it badly. The surface water temperature is 64-degrees and it was a beautiful day yesterday but a little windy today and cooler. Scuba Steve could see his lure down about 5-feet on the main lake. The White River at Newport is 3.26 feet and rising slowly and very low. It was 2.3 feet a couple of days ago and about ready to dry up.  Scuba Steve fished two of his brush piles and caught fish on both starting about 4:PM and fished until after 5:PM. It was warm and the wind was calm and he could stay right on the brush while using his trolling motor very sparingly. Shut off those spot locks unless you are chasing fish on shad in open water. Drift with the wind over the brush and then go around it with the trolling motor and do it again. All of the fish were in 18-feet of water near the bottom right in the brush. He caught Kentucky Bass, Crappie and a Walleye. It was a wonderful day and good to be out. There were a few other boats out there but not many. I saw about 6 or7. I know of no other place where you can have such a beautiful lake, full of fish and low boat traffic. If you are having guests or family over for the holidays and have no room give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 and stay in a kitchen cabin.  No sense staying in a one room motel and paying too much. We rent peace and quiet while being the closest resort to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. There were two Eagles down at the big dock last evening along with ducks, geese, Herons, deer and an Armadillo. You can cook your own food, have it delieverd or go 1-2 miles away to  good places to eat or drink with live enetertainment. It is nice here and the price is right. We are family owned and operated and are not for sale or sold. Scuba Steve likes it here. He has to go fishing now. It is his job.
