The lake level is 550.80 and has dropped 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours. They completely quit generating at 2:AM this morning but it was not much anyway. The White River at Newport is 5.02 feet and dropping and very low. The wade fishermen on the rivers like this but they are all catch and release from Bull Shoals on the White River and all of the Norfork River to the confluence of the Norfork River at Norfork to the White. The Trout died at the hatchery but they were all put and take anyway. Scuba Steve always said that Trout fishing is for people that could not catch fish out of the lake.  Kids like it though and all you need is a Zebco 202, can of corn and a 5-gallon bucket. No sense in complicating it with fancy equipment. The surface water temperature is 68-degrees in Blackburns Creek and the water is clearing. Fishing is getting better now and Walleye, Stripers, White Bass, Hybrids, Bass, Crappie and Bluegill are all being caught by Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's customers. It was just a matter of time. The fall foliage is now changing rapidly. I do not know exactly when it will peak but it will be a few days. It will be better than last year but last year was a dud. It sure is a good time to be out on the lake and watch the beautiful scenery and catch a few fish. We still have a couple more days of rainy, cool and dreary weather (good for fishing) but it lookes like a good weekend weather-wise and a perfect time to visit Norfork Lake and Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.  We have the best place with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. You can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day, a 2-bedroom for $89/day and 3&4 bedrooms are priced accordingly and they come with a free stall for your boat at our big full service dock with launch right here. No need to go elsewhere to launch. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located and he has some good ones. We especially welcome Veterans and Police.
