The lake level is 552.55 and has dropped 1.1 inches in the last 24-hours with 1/3rd of a generator running continuously. The White River at Newport is 6.04 feet and very low. The surface water temperature is 74-degrees and dropping with the cooler weather. It was in the low 50's this morning. The lake is still stained green but is trying to clear a little.  Fishing is just fair but some nice fish are being caught everyday. A little top-water, a little beating the bank, a little brush pile fishing and a little open water fishing on shad. The fish are not feeding very well and when they start you have to be there and then they quit for several hours. Get out early, take the middle of the day off and go back out in the evening. The weather has been and should continue to be beautiful for the next several days and warming again later this week end. It has been a great fall weatherwise so far. The fall foliage is starting to change again and my Burning Bush and Red Maple Trees are turning. There is not much color on the lakeside hills yet. There was some brown but some green has come back with the rain. The Sumac is not red yet on the roadsides. It sure is nice here at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental with the flowers, green grass, wildlife and peace, quiet and low boat traffic. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is an Arkansas State Bird Sanctuary and we have a lot of them.  It sure is a good a good time to visit and relax. We have the best place with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and a free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. You can launch right here with ample parking.  Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We especially welcome Veterans and Police.
