The lake level is 553.51 and is the same as it was at 8:PM last evening when they stopped all generation. The top of the power pool changes to 553.75 tomorrow but we are barely below that now. The White River at Newport is 6.70 feet and low and fairly stable. The surface water temperature is 77-degrees in the main lake and a little higher in the creeks out of the wind. The water is stained green and the visibility is poor. The fall foliage has not changed much in the last week since the 3-inches of rain and the warm ambient daytime temperatures.  There may be a chance for better color. It was just brown. It usually peaks the very last of October. Bink reports that he is catching a mixed bag of fish on his spoon in 35-ft. of water including Catfish and Bass. Scuba Steve is catching a few Crappie and Kentucky Bass and Bluegill on his brush piles in 25-30 ft. of water on the jgrub and minnow. Overall fishing seems to be getting better with a lot of baitfish moving into the creeks in the late afternoon. The weather has been beautiful and perfect for being on the lake. Come on down to Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental and join the fun and we will not charge you too much. You can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day or $395/week and it comes with a free stall for your boat at our big dock with launch.  We especially welcome Veterans and Police. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. Compare prices. All of our cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered porches out of the weather.
