The lake level is 554.95 and has dropped 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with 1/3rd generator running most of the time. Occationally they turn on one fully. The White River at Newport is 6.85 feet indicating not much water is being released anywhere. It is very low and they like holding the area lakes up too high. It is hot and dry but there are several chances for rain this week. Everything is dry and brown except Debbie's Flowers. They are beautiful.  The surface water tempersture is 83-degrees and the thermocline is at 30-feet. The water is stained green and the visibility is poor. Fishing is fair on brush piles in 25-30 feet of water using small spoons fished vertically or live minnows right on top of brush with Bluegill being the shallowest followed by Crappie, Bass and Catfish.  Some Bass and Catfish have moved back in the creeks and are shallow using night crawlers. A few walleye are in the brush but most are short. Scuba Diving conditions are poor. Scuba Steve still expects good diving late this month and into October. There are a lot of fish of different species in Norfork lake and Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is the place to be. We have the best place with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and a free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Come on down and feed the turtles, fish and ducks at our dock. Our big pool is open and there is peace and quiet on the lake. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115. You can drive 1/3rd mile down a nearly level road to the dock, launch right here and step right on.  It is nice here and the price is right. Why pay more unless you just have too much money? If you do, stay at Blackburns and give the difference to Disabled Veterans. Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located.
