The lake level is 555.23 and has dropped 1-1/4 inches in the last 24-hours with minimal generation. The White River at Newport is 8.14 feet and dropping. Southwestern Power is scheduling the generation now so do not expect much. The surface water temperature is back up to 83-degrees in the afternoons with the hot ambient temperatures and the thermocline is at 30-feet but not pronounced. The water is stained green down to the thermocline with poor visibility caused by algae bloom. Your best bet is to fish main lake point brush piles in 20-25 feet of water and use a small spoon or live bait. Several species of fish are on the same brush at various depths with Crappie Being on the top. Scuba Steve is using the green 1/8th ounce Bink's Jigging spoon for best results. Bluegill are biting crickets and small minnows. Scuba conditions are poor. Swimming conditions are excellent in Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's big pool. The Arkansas Game and Fish stocked 154,000 Striped Bass, 66,010 Hybrid Striped Bass and 76,874 Walleye in Norfork Lake in 2025. That is pretty good and Scuba Steve really likes it that they are stocking Walleye again and wishes it was more. Them and Crappie are his favorites but that is no secret. They like his brush piles and he will show you where when you get here.
