The lake level is 560.52 and has dropped 3-inches in the last 24-hours with one and 1/2 generators running for about 1/2 the time and 1/3rd generator the rest. The White River is being managed to 12-feet for no intelligent reason and is at 12.13 feet. They are holding the lake up as high as possible for as long as possible. This is stupid and the people managing the lake level need to be replaced. How long can we accept incompetency and allow it to happen. Call your congressman. At least my electrical wire to the dock is high enough to fly an airplane under it and that is about all they care about. The surface water temperature was 87-degrees and the thermocline was at 29-feet when Scuba steve came in at 7:30 PM Saturday evening. The visibility was fair. Crappie are on Brush piles in 25-30 feet deep 20-feet down. The larger Bass are also there but many smaller ones are shallower and biting crawdad baits in the evening. Walleye are with the Crappie but a little deeper. Nothing is feeding very well and the oxygen is depleteted below 23-feet. Getting reaction strikes are your best bet. Larger Stripers are still dying down by the dam. Scuba Steve is not happy about this because it could have been avoided by lowering the lake level faster without bothering anybody down stream. One government agency does not know what the other is doing and they need to be out-sourced. He has a lot of respect for Arkansas Game and Fish. Corps Of Engineers not so much. Fishing is getting a little better but it will get a lot better after the holiday.
