The lake level is 565.83 and has dropped 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running about 1/2 the time and less than 1-generator for the other 1/2. The surface water temperature is 87-degrees and the thermocline is at 27-feet with fair to poor visibility. The White River at Newport is 13.65 feet and dropping. Several fish are at or near the thermocline with a top-water bite for Bass early. Stripers are deep in 80+ feet of water and being caught on the 1-ounce spoon with a reaction strike. Drop it right on their head. Get out early, take the middle of the day off and then go out about 7:PM when the Kentucky Bass move in shallow to feed on crawdads then get out the black light. Scuba Conditions are fair to poor with the Walleye getting more scarce but a few crappie are showing up. The lake and weather are very good for boating, swimming and water sports with no rain in sight. There is still time for a visit before school starts.
