The lake level is 556 14 and has dropped 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running about 1/2 the time and less than one running the rest. The surface water temperature is 88-degrees and dropping. The White River at Newport is 13.86 feet and also dropping. They are holding the area lakes up as high as they can for as long as they can except for Table Rock which is below normal. Bull Shoals is 20-feet too high and Norfork is 11. Bink is still catching large Stripers deep on his spoon but is also catching some at the thermocline at 26-feet and some Bass on top-water early. Crappie and Catfish are scarce and Walleye are roaming as are small schools of White bass. Visibility is fair but about normal for this time of year. It will get better at the end of this month when the Crappie move back to the brush. The level may be about right unless they quit generating. Scub Steve is still concerned about a big striper kill late this month. The water has been too high for too long. Conditions are good here at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental and the weather looks great for the next week. It is a good time to pack up the children and head to Blackburns where you will find the best place with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. We will not charge you too much and we especially welcome Veterans and Police. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Why pay more unless you just have too much money? If you do stay at Blackburns and give the difference to disabled Veterans. Scuba Steve is a Veteran but does not need as much policing as he used to. Compare prices. It is nice here.
