The lake level is 568.98 and has dropped 4-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously. It is down 10-feet from it's high and is predicted to reach 555.75 on September 16th. Table Rock is now normal. The White River at Newport is 14.40 feet and stable. The surface water temperature is 90-degrees and the thermocline is at 26-feet. Visibility is fair to poor. The fish are in their mid-summer pattern and not much is happening. Nothing is feeding much but you can still catch Stripers deep on the jigging spoon out of the oxygen bubble on a reaction strike, Bass after dark under the black light and Bluegill off docks on crickets. Not much else. Most Scuba Divers are having a hard time fishing but it is sure nice to get down into the cool refreshing water below the thermocline. The lake overall remains in good condition for boating, swimming and water sports. It is a good time for a visit to Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental before school starts. Compare prices and come on down. It is nice here and the price is right. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. The big pool with slide is refreshing and big Bluegill are biting off the dock.
