The lake level is 572.51 and has dropped 3-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuosly. The White River at Newport is 17.06 feet and steady. The surface water temperature is 86-degrees and the thermocline has pushed down to 22-feet with a mud line from 17-22 feet with fair to poor visibility but the water overall is clearing.  The thermocline is now more pronounced and more fish are right at or near the 22-foot depth including Bass, Walleye, and White Bass. Fishing is in it's summer pattern and not much is changing daily. Fish main lake points where the wind has been blowing into. Stripers are going deeper and are still making reaction strikes on the spoon. You have to drop it right on their heads. Scuba Steve is seeing very few Crappie but they will move in later next month. They always do. Some nice White Bass are with the Walleye but not big schools. After dark Bass fishing under black lights using salt craws is still working well shallow. Fish are not feeding heavily but Crawdads are their favorite now. Bluegill are still biting crickets off docks. Scuba Divers are getting a few Walleye and White bass. Catfishing is slow with the dropping water. I do not know where the big Blue Cats have gone but their numbers have diminished. Flathead numbers have increased and Channel Cats are getting bigger. There is still time to bring the children to the lake for fun before school starts. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is the family headquarters for fun. We keep our prices low so people can still have an affordable family vacation. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. A free stall at our big dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Some charge for them, we do not unless you bring the Queen Mary.
