The lake level is 576.72 and is the same as it was at this time yesterday despite two inches of rain the last two days. They are running both generators continuously but the spillway gates are closed. We are expecting heavy rain early this afternoon. The surface water temperature is 87-degrees and the thermocline is at 18-feet with cold water at 20. The visibility is good down to 13-feet and there is a mud line from there to 18-feet with poor visibility and the water clears again at 20-feet. The fish are in the mud line. These late June and early July storms are not good and happen every year and form during the heat of the day. Scuba Steve does not like them. Anybody with a dock does not like them. Stripers are deep on the bottom and Walleye, Black Bass, Kentucky Bass and White Bass are around cover near the thermocline. I do not know where the crappie are located but are probably in open water on shad. They will come in on shallow brush late August so I do not worry about it. I go Scuba Diving on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and take most of the middle of the week off. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental continues to have the best place with the best price on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. Come on down and check us out. We are closest to mountain Home, dining and shopping and a free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. The children will love the big pool with slide and bably pool and the larew flat playground with a lot of activities. We will not charge you too much and especially welcome Veterans And Police. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
