The lake level is 576.17 and has dropped 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running sometimes and then 1-1/3rd generators running sometimes. They have cut way back. There is not much effort to drop the lake and it will be September before it gets back to normal. The White River at Newport is 20.13 feet and stable and they are regulating it to there with generation. It could be at 25-feet with no problem. The surface water temperature is 87-88 degrees depending on the time of day and the visibility is not the best but is adequate for Scuba Diving. It seems to be the same from Cranfield to below Robinson Island. That is as far as I have been. The thermocline starts at 17-feet where the water is 75-degrees and is very cold at 20 ft. A lot of fish including Bass, Walleye and White Bass are between 16-20 feet near cover. Stripers are deeper in about 30-feet and are biting the spoon off the bottom. There are a lot of big Bluegill shallow in brush all over the place. Crappie are scarce. They were all over the place under Blackburns dock but are gone. I suspect in open water on shad. They always come in on brush in late August or early September.
