The lake level is 577.28 and has dropped 5-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously and spillway gates open to an equivalent of another 1-2/3rds generators. That is quite a bit. The White river at Newport is 20.69 feet and stable. It could be 25-ft if they wanted. The weather forecast is for sunny and very warm for the next several days and they took all rain out of the extended forecast. The water is very clear and the thermocline is just over 18-feet with visibility of 5-6 feet there. A lot of fish are in or around cover at that depth including Walleye, White Bass and Kentucky Bass. Some fish are surfacing early but most are White Bass and Bass. Stripers are going deeper with the water temperature which is now 84-degrees. They should slow down discharge from Norfork soon and work on Bull Shoals which is very high but it is hard to figure what they will do as there is no accountability. The lake overall is in good condition for boating, swimming and fishing but is still high. Most all of the debris has stuck to the shore with the quickly dropping water. The beaches are gone, so now the best way to swim is to go out on a pontoon back in a creek is 25-30 ft. of water and anchor out of the wind and swim around the boat using it as a headquarters. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has several pontoons to rent and at the best prices in the Ozarks. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice nere and the price is right. No we are not sold, not for sale and are not closing. We like it here and you will also. The children will love our big pool with slide and baby pool and large, green, flat playground. You can drive to the dock, park and step right on. Compare prices.
