The lake level is 577.74 and has dropped 4-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with 2-generators running maximum continuously and spillway gates open another 1-2/3rds generator. The White River at Newport is 20.90 feet and stable. They could be letting out more with no problem downstream. Bull Shoals is now stable but very high. The water is clearing and the thermocline is 18-feet. The surface water temperature is 83-degrees and rising. The lake overall is in good condition for swimming, boating and fishing. albeit high. The hot dry weather for the next several days should allow for area lakes to drop finally. There is a chance of rain in the middle of the week. There is a top-water bite in the early mornings for Bass and White bass and the Stripers have gone deeper and a few larger Walleye are with them and are reaction striking spoons. A lot of smaller Walleye are around cover on the main lake in about 20-ft. of water with some nice Kentucky Bass. Scuba Diving conditions are good but the larger Walleye are hard to find as are Crappie. There are a lot of baitfish out there and nothing is hungry with game fish being fat and healthy. Catfishing has slowed but some are being caught on live Bluegills.
