Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

6/18/2025

The lake level is 578.86 and is up 1-inch in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously and they opened up the spillway gates only 1-foot yesterday afternoon equal to 1/3rd of a generator. It is not enough. They better hope we do not get much rain. It looks to be sunny for several days after today with very warm ambient temperatures. The White River at Newport is 21.50 feet and dropping and should be at 25-feet. Bryant Creek at Tecumseh is 6.32 feet and steadily putting quite a bit of water into the Norfork River.  There was more debris out on the main lake yesterday than the day before and you have to be careful dragging overweight children around on chaise lounges. If you do, have them wear a helmet and make sure their insurance is paid up.  Scuba Steve found some nice Walleye in about 18-20 feet of water near cover on the main lake and there were som Kentucky Bass and White Bass with them. The thermocline was at 18-feet in the channel swings and 16-feet on the main channel in the current caused by generation and cold below that. He saw no fish off steep banks. The visibility was fair but it was very cloudy. It was good enough.  Scuba Conditions are fair-good. Fair when it is cloudy and good when the sun is shining. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's conditions anre very good as are their prices on both cabins and boat rentals. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. Our big pool has no debris but it does have a slide and baby pool. Come on down. It is nice here and the price is right. Lots of stuff for the children.
