The lake level is 576.88 and has dropped 3-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours despite the 1-inch of rain last evening. The creeks are running but not fast. They continue to run both generators continuously with spillway gates open to an quivalent of another 1-1/2 generators which is quite a bit and I am surprised they are still doing this while Bull Shoals is still rising with huge amounts of water coming in from Table Rock with very heavy generation there. Bull Shoals is very high with no effort to drop it. Bull Shoals will be high for a long time even when thery cut back at Norfork and they will. Norfork has dropped 2.6 feet from it's high and a lot of stuff has stuck to the bank. Beaver lake is less than a foot from going over the slillway with rain there. The White River at Newport is 21.60 feet and stable and they seem comfortable regulating it to that level if possible without breaching spillway gates anywhere. They are not out of the woods yet but Bull Soals holds a lot of water and has 4.4 feet to go. Bryant creek at Tecumseh is 5.65 feet and still putting quite a bit of water into the Norfork River. We do not need a big rain anywhere in this area but so far so good. The Catfishing has slowed with the bigger moon and dropping water level but Bluegill Fishing is good around willows and under docks. Some smaller Stripers, Hybrids and White Bass are both coming up early and then going down on Shad in open water. Crappie are in the backs of creeks around cover with Bass. The surface water temperature is 76-degrees and dropping from it's high near 80. The water wants to clear and overall the lake is in pretty good condition albeit high. There is no reason not to enjoy the lake. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has business as usual except you have to launch at Panther Bay. You can drive to the dock, park and step right on the dock. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. A free stall at our big dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. You can save big $ by staying at Blackburns. Why pay more unless you just have too much money?
