The lake level is 578.61 and has dropped 2-inches in the last 24-hours. They are still running both generators continually but have cut spillway gates way down to about 1/3rd of a generator. The White River at Newport is 24.07 and dropping and well within it's banks. Bull Shoals is still rising and is very high. Significant rain is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday but the weather is beautiful now. The new news is that the lake surface water temperature is rising quickly and is now 78-degrees. The water is clearing. Some Stripers, Walleye, Catfish and Bass are being caught. The Crappie and Big Bluegill are under Blackburns Dock but a lot of baitfish are there too. Nothing is very hungry but some nice fish are being caught everyday. Blackburns Creek is void of debris and is a good place to fish. Small Bluegill are good bait. If you are planning a trip to the Mountain Home and Norfork lake area compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. We especially welcome Veterans and Police. You can drive to and park at our dock and step right on but have to launch at Panther Bay. A free stall for your boat at our big dock somes with a cabin rental of two days or more.
