Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 579.35 and has dropped 2-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously and spillway gates open to an equivalent to another 2-1/3rd generators. We received another 1/2 inch of rain yesterday afternoon about 5:PM and that should be it for several days. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. The White River at Newport is 25.81 feet and approaching the minor flood stage of 26-feet. Bryant Creek at tecumseh is 7.26 feet. It is not high but is still sending a lot of water into the Norfork River. The surface water temperature is about 70-degrees and the heavy current is sending debris south. Bull Shoals is still rising and is very high. After they get Norfork out of danger they will cut down on it's discharge and concentrate on getting Table Rock back to normal without flooding out Newport too bad and keeping Bull Shoals from breaching the spillway. Unless we get another big rain they should be able to pull this off. Norfork and Bull Shoals are looking at having high water for several weeks. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's customers are catching some nice fish. White Bass are by the 101 bridge and Walleye are by Henderson Marina. A few Stripers are being caught near Blackburns. There is not much debris in the creek but you have to dodge it on the main lake. Going out after dark is not recommended. By no means should anybody be dragging children around on chaise lounges. If you do make sure their insurance is paid up.  You can launch your boat at Panther Bay, drive it to Blackburns Dock and park it in our big dock at no charge and park your trailer near the cabin. You can then drive your vehicle down to the dock and have just a few steps to get on and access your boat without launching and parking everyday. Leave your campers at home and come on down.
