Area Lakes Condition Report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

5/27/2025

Norfork Lake level is officially less than 1-ft. from going over the spillway at 579.03 and they just started up both generators after nothing since 11PM last night. Bryant creek at Tecumseh is 8.58 feet so quite a bit of water is still coming. The White River at Newport is 23.91 and rising slowly where minor flood stage is 26-feet. The problen is that the Black River at Black Rock is way out of it's banks and it flows into the White. They seem to be ok with flooding out Black Rock for some reason and if I were them I would not expect any relief anytime soon.  Beaver lake is one inch from going over the spillway and they are running all generators and have spillway gates open a bunch to keep this from happening. Bull Shoals has 5 more feet left and Table Rock has 8 more feet left. They could pull this off without flooding out the White River too bad but it will be close. 5-feet at Bull Shoals is a lot of water especially at this very high level. Any more rain could throw a kink in their cog. One thing for sure is all area lakes will be very high for a long time. Norfork is not on the chain of lakes so my guess is they will keep it just under the 580 mark until things straighten up. If you see spillway gates open on Bull shoals you better run.  It is time to set out limb lines for Catfishing, get out early for the top-water bite, and fish around willows with live bait. Everything will be scattered out. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has no dimished services except launching and you have to go to Panther Bay for that. The big pool is open. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. Not a good year for campers anywhere.
