The lake level is 575.16 and has risen 3-1/2 feet in 24 hours with both generators running since 6:AM. Everything had been shut down before that. The White River at Newport is 20.29 feet, rising, and the minor flood stage there is 26-feet. Bryant Creek at Tecumseh had crested but is rising again and a lot of water is heading this way from there. The rain has been spotty but we have received just short of three inches since Friday in Scuba Steve's rain gauge. It is raining now and the creeks are running heavily with brown water. The surface water temperature is in the low 70's and the lake is stained a little brown but not bad. The brown water is just spilling out over the roads and not getting to the main lake. There is some debris floating around out there so do not go out after dark. The Corps of Engineers have got themselves in a bind and will probably find out after they get back from their long holiday weekend. This is just another example of hold and hope not working over and over again. The dams were built to hold water and they know how to do that until the very end. Just wait until Table Rock starts getting full and it will and they again open spillway gates and flood out the White River. Maybe then there will be management changes. The next couple of days will tell. Scuba Steve has been around too long to make predictions. There are too many variables. It might quit raining now and everything will be fine.
