The lake level is 569.36 and has risen 2-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours. They just cut way back on generation and always do when it rains in order to maximize the rise. My rain gauge blew over last night but we got nearly 2-inches of rain as best I can tell. The creeks run but are clear now. The White River at Newport is 15.23 feet and rising but is not high. Bull Shoal;s rose 4-1/2 inches and is very high. Bryant Creek at Tecumseh is up a little over a foot and is also not high. Norfork Should be fine for the holiday albeit high water. Look for lines at the boat launches and long walks to park you vehicle and trailer especially with Cranfield being closed. Panther Bay does now have much better launching and parking after being shut down for several months for renovations. It does not look like good conditions for campers but there are many new private drive by the road RV parks open. Mountain Home is now a small city of Camping and RV parks just like Mountain View and they just keep building them. The surface water temperature is 73-degrees in Blackburns Creek and people are swimming. Cool water does not seem to bother drunks and little children much. One thing Scuba Steve can guarentee is there will be a large amount of law enforcement both on the roads and on the lake from Friday through Monday. Do not come for Vacation and leave on Probation.
