The lake level is 569.17 and has dropped 3-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously. The White River at Newport is 14.68 ft. and rising slowly but is at a normal level for this time of year. The surface water temperature is 72-degrees and rising and the water is trying to clear. Red meat fish are coming up early and hitting top-water lures. Catfish are in the backs of the creeks and hitting live Bluegill and Bass are both on shad in opon water and feeding on the newly hatched fry under docks and other cover. Crappie are scattered all over the place but some schools are around wood in the backs of the creeks. Beating the bank with a soft plastic or a small spinner bait can catch about anything. Scuba Steve's favorite is a 2-inch white twister tail grub on a 1/16th ounce white with red eye jig head tipped with a small Crappie minnow.
