Carl Scott from Texas is still catching some nice ones. Good fisherman even though he is from Texas.

The lake level is 569.92 and is up 1-1/4 inches in the last 24-hours. They did alternate between one and two generators for about 6-hours yesterday. I thought they might be rusted shut. They also shut down the spillway gates on Table Rock but Bull Shoals still rose another 5-inches. Table Rock has now been lowered to the top of it's power pool and is at a normal level.  This is unbelieveable. The White River at Newport is 15.71 feet and still dropping. It is not high anymore and water could be released. The Black River at Black Rock is back in it's banks and the Black River at Pocahontas is well into it's banks. Things are looking better everywhere except for Bull Shoals which is 21.5 feet above the top of the power pool and Norfork is 15 ft. above. They better let some water out before we get another big rain. I nominate Elmer Fudd to manage the lake levels to get some brains into the outfit. The surface water temperature is 68-69 degrees and has been stable for a couple of weeks. The water is clearing in both the main lake and the creeks and is a good color for fishing. Some White Bass and Hybrid Stripers are over and around the flooded Cranfield Island as are Walleye. White Bass are coming up early and biting under lights on small spoons off docks. Catfishing has slowed with the big micro flower moon but it does not have the effect of a super moon. When there is a super moon and the river is dropping you might as well take a break from Catfishing. When the moon is small, it is cloudy and the river is rising slowly Scuba Steve gets antsy to go Catfishing especially this time of year. He is catching some nice ones so far this season. Bass fishing is pretty good using various baits. Chatter Baits, small crankbaits, small spinner baits and creature baits on a small jig head are all working. A lot of nice Kentucky Bass are being caught with some being with the White Bass on top-water. Crappie are scattered around any cover shallow back in the creeks and there are mostly singles but nice sized. Several are under Blackburns Dock. Some larger Bluegill are spawning. It is a good time of year and Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental still has the best place with the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. A free stall for your boat at our dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered or screened-in porches. We are family owned and family operated and are not for sale or have sold. We like it here and are not trying to cash out. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation and we will not charge you too much. We especially welcome Veterans and Police. and are closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. You can launch right here.
