The lake level is 569.42 and has risen 1-inch in the last 24-hours with no dam discharge. They shut everything off again and are running Table Rock as hard as they can with all generators running and spillway gates open. They are filling Bull Shoals rapidly in order to keep Table Rock and Branson Landing normal at Norfork and Bull Shoal's expense. At least there is no other dam on the Norfork River for them to dump into us or if they could devert water from Table Rock to us they probably would. What they are doing is an example of extreme government incompetence and corruption. What a big waste of money by-passing the generators and running the water over the spillway gates for no reason. The Corps of Engineers definitely needs ato be disbanded and put under the Department of Interior with accountability which they have none now. It looks like we will be in for another summer of high water. The White River at Newport is 19.74 feet and dropping as are the other area rivers and streams. The surface water temperature is 69-degrees and has dropped slowly with the cooler ambient weather. The water is clearing, stained a little green, and the Bass and Crappie spawn is about over with a few Bass still on beds. It was a good one. The top-water bite for all Temperate Bass Species is the best right now but Bass and Catfishing are both pretty good. It is a good time fo take a fishing trip to Norfork lake. A lot of fish are being caught off Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's Dock. We still have the best prices on both cabins and boat rental's in the Ozarks and a free stall for your boat at our big dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. We do not have boat stalls for 1-day rentals. All of our cabins either have big covered or screened-in porches and there are all individual with no duplexes. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. Why pay more unless you just have too much money? If you do stay at Blackburns and give the difference to Disabled Veterans. I see people paying $30/day too much for a duplex cabin with no covered porch, $20/day for a boat stall and hauling their own gas to the dock to save money.
