Norfork Lake Arkansas Near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

5/3/2025

The lake level is 569.28 and has risen 5-inches in the last 24-hours with no rain. Here is the deal. They cut back on Norfork dishcharge from the spillway gates after cutting back on Bull Shoals the day before and Scuba Steve new something was up. The White River at Newport is 23.96 and has not changed much but still dropping.  They  have opened up Table Rock Lake spillway gates a whole bunch and increased Bull Shoals a little. Bull Shoals is rising also.  Norfork and Bull Shoals are both 16-feet above the top of the power pool while Table Rock is almost Normal. Table Rock is filling Bull shoals and they are holding Norfork which is still receiving water from Bryant Creek. If there was ever a time to say politics and incompetence has a big influence on the area Lakes management it is now. Everytime I think they are getting a little faster on the draw they never cease to disappoint me. It is now time to disband the Corps of Engineers or put them under the control of the Department of the interior and get politics and incompetence out of dam management including Southwet Power Administration. Everytime we get to the top of the power pool they take over and quit generating like we do not need power in their district ever. They are just as bad. When the water gets too high they bypass the generators and open spillway gates. DUH.  They are just as bad. We need DOGE to check this out. This is serious malfunction of government with corruption.
