This is what the Cystic guys are looking for. Steve Hommerding caught this one at Blackburns. The lake level is 570.05 and has risen 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running for about 10-hours. It may have crested if they do not stop generating. The White River at Newport is 29.13 feet and dropping slowly but is still above the 26-ft. flood stage. Table Rock Lake is just 3-feet above the top of their power pool and they are releasing 6-times as much water from there as from Norfork Lake which is 16-1/2 ft. above their power pool. No politics involved here. They say the dams are made to hold water but you can bet they will not let Branson Landing flood out again no matter what. It is all about the $. I will talk to Elon about this. There may be some job cuts needed. Now that they have not drawn down the lake for the winter ( if they would have drawn us down to 546 in the winter we would now be at 562) and have flooded us out they will probably do inspections to make sure all of the power lines to the docks are high enough to fly an airplane under them. If not they will make you take them down or cancel dock leases. We need more government to stop the big rash of electrocution deaths around lake docks. There was one possibly at lake Lanier in Georgia a couple of years ago. One is too many. This could not be a part of the green new deal to make all docks change to solar power. It is just for safety purposes. We must be safe at all costs. There are over 40,000 deaths from motor vehicles in the US annually. We should drop the speed limit to 5-MPH and cut this way down. One is too many. It is a perfect day for the annual Cystic Fibrosis Bass Fishing Tournament on Norfork Lake. Sunny, 72-degrees with light southerly winds. I hope they do well as it is a good cause. Lots of good prizes donated by generous donors. The surface water temperature is just under 59-degrees on the main lake and a little warmer back shallow in the darker colored creeks. The water is clearing and is a pretty good color for fishing on most of the lake. It will be interesting. Most of the bass are not on beds yet but Scuba Steve saw a few up shallow yesterday. Things are changing quickly now but Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is still the home of the $69/day 1-bedroom cabins and a free stall for your boat at our dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right.
