Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

4/10/2025

Nancy Hommerding from Gleason, Wisconsin with a nice one. Nice Lady. The lake level is 569.60 and is up 4-inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running for about 4-hours. It is still rising very slowly with the one generator running so it has not crested yet. It is up about 16-feet since the rain started in the middle of last week. Sunshine, warm ambient temperatures, light southernly winds are warming and clearing the lake. The wind just changed to from the Northwest and it looks like it will be predominately coming from there for a few days blowing plankton, bait fish and predator fish into Blackburns Creek.  The brown is dropping out quicky but the darker water is also warming more quickly especially in the creeks. Scuba Steve had a surface water temperature of 58+ on the main lake last evening. The White River at Newport is 30.58 and dropping slowly and has crested. Flood stage there is 26-feet. Bryant Creek at Tecumseh is 5.94 feet, dropping slowly and is back to normal. No big slug of water is heading this way. Male Crappie have moved into the buckbrush to stage for spawn in Pigeon, Middle Pigeon, East Pigeon and Briar Creek. The big ones will spawn soon. All of the Stripers that I have been catching are spawned out. Bass are pre-spawn feeding in the warmest water. The spawn will be in full swing for the Largemouth and Smallmouth bass with the new moon in April with is the 27th and continue for the Kentucky Bass most of the summer. Things are back to normal here at Blackburns with the road fixed, the dock moved, flowers blooming, birds chirping and the grass mowed. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is still the home of the $69/day one bedroom cabins with 2,3,4 bedrooms priced accordingly. We especially welcome Veterans and Police. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Compare Prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right.
