Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

4/4/2025

The lake level is 554.69 and has risen 5-inches in the last 24-hours with generation about 1/2 the time. Bryant Creek at Tecumseh is 5.12 feet and rising with a little more flow. Bryant Creek got up to 29.79-feet last November 5th. We received another 1-inch of heavy rain this morning with a lot of thunder and lightning cancelling the St. Croix Bassmasters for today on Norfork turning it in to a 2-day tournament ending tomorrow. The leader caught 18.49 pounds. The Black River at Black Rock is 12.70 feet and is filling up the White River at Newport. It is now 11.54 ft. at Newport. Moderate floodstage at Black Rock is 14-feet. The White River at Newport could get very high and backup, flooding tributaries. We have received 2.4 inches of rain total since Wednesday here at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental. It could be a lot worse but it all depends on what happens this afternoon and tomorrow. Scuba Steve has to go grade the county road. The county quit maintaining it several years ago to save money. The only ones surprised that it rains in the spring are the people managing the lake level and refuse to drop the lake level in the winter. The surface water temperature is 58-degrees in Blackburns Creek and 55-56 on the main lake. The main lake is still clear and the creeks are brown out to the main lake from the runoff. Fishing has not been affected adversely. I need to mow my grass again when this stops. It is to get very cold early next week with frost and then warm up again.
