The lake level was 553.83 inches and is up 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours and rising when Scuba Steve came in at 7:PM last evening. We had received 1.3 inches of fast rain and most of it run off despite the dry conditions. The brown water haS come in from the creeks and had moved past Blackburns Creek and was heading out to the main lake. So far nothing is bad. More is coming but I do not know how much. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has been here a long time and knows how to deal with it. The spring rains come despite the people that manage the lake level are the only ones that do not anticipate this. They like floods. Government get rid of them. Outsource the Corps Of Engineers. Drop the lake in the winter. Spring Fishing is starting but nobody has any guarantees. Everythig is fine now and the lake is in good condition and at a good lervel. Go to www.blackburnsresort.com and click on Scuba Steve's Blog and Be the first to know what is happing on Norfork Lake. Go where the brown water meets the clear water. Yes the dark water warms quicker but is not the best until it does. Blackburns Has the best price and the best place and ScubaSteve will help you Catch Fish. He works hard to put in brush piles. Nobody else does.
